Gemini Advanced has been officially launched by Google. The most potent AI model from the internet giant is now available for subscription, following several reports and confirmations from Google CEO Sundar Pichai during the company’s quarterly earnings call. Bard has a new name, Gemini, as does the free version of the generative AI chatbot, which is now based on the Gemini Pro model. Gemini Advanced is presently available for free for two months as a special deal.
“The version with Ultra will be called Gemini Advanced, a new experience far more capable at reasoning, following instructions, coding, and creative collaboration,” Pichai added, announcing the debut of the AI’s subscription tier in the newsroom. He also disclosed that the Google One AI Premium plan, which will be included with Google One, will be the name given to the Gemini Advanced membership. Consequently, customers who sign up for it will also receive 2TB of cloud storage space in addition to all the other Google One features.
Gemini Ultra may “create step-by-step instructions, sample quizzes or back-and-forth discussions” and function as a personal tutor for a user looking for help for academic purposes or wishing to upskill, according to a second post that highlighted its characteristics. The Ultra model may assist users with producing, assessing, editing, and debugging complex code assignments. It is skilled in sophisticated coding. Additionally, the Google Advanced subscription can help digital creators since it can produce content, analyse current trends, and provide ideas and inspiration for audience growth and engagement.
The website and an Android app will offer the free versions of Gemini (trained on Gemini Pro) and Gemini Advanced. Via the Google app, iOS users can test out the AI helper. The monthly cost of Google Advanced subscription is fixed at 1,950 rupees. However, consumers can test it out for free for two months as part of a special deal presently being offered by the tech giant.
In addition to introducing the premium tier, Google formally changed Bard’s name to Gemini. “The ideal way for consumers to interact with our most capable models up close is through Bard. Bard will now just be called Gemini to better represent the cutting-edge technology at its heart, Pichai continued.
