As the official Samsung Galaxy S24 phone launch on Wednesday, January 17, draws nearer, the leaks are definitely not stopping. The most recent leak to make its way to us peeks at some of the AI picture editing wizardry that the phones will provide.
Claiming to have obtained promotional materials for the Galaxy S24 line, Android Headlines has showcased some impressive tricks that bear resemblance to the capabilities of Google Photos on smartphones such as the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
The subject of a picture is being cropped off and then shifted higher up in the frame, and we can see an interface for modifying photos with a Generate button at the bottom. A feature of a comparable nature has also been noticed in past leaks.
Improvements to video editing, such as using AI to stabilise clips and lower noise levels in them, have also been discussed earlier. It’s obvious that one of the Galaxy S24 series’ main selling points will be these AI improvements.
AI everywhere
As previously reported, if you own a current Google Pixel phone, you can use Google Photos to do a variety of AI-enabled tricks, such as deleting subjects entirely from images and rearranging people and things inside them.
And with the rise of ChatGPT and Google Bard, as well as the introduction of high-tech gear like the Rabbit r1, which was just announced at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, it has been increasingly difficult to avoid artificial intelligence in the last year or so.
Samsung won’t want to lose out, and there are several indications that the corporation plans to fully utilise AI in the Galaxy 24—not just by incorporating photo editing capabilities but also by including other services like real-time translation during calls.
An AI-enhanced on-screen keyboard, which could enable you to alter the tone or style of your text with a few clicks, is another possible feature that has emerged. We should receive all of Samsung’s formal announcements in a few days.
